Senior Youth Worker, Youth off the Streets
Chris Standing joined Youth Off The Streets on 13th February 2006 as a Trainee Youth Worker, being inducted by Father Chris Riley, himself. Throughout his time he has accomplished many achievements, not only did he complete his Traineeship, Certificate IV Youth Work and Certificate IV Mental Health. He has also represented Youth Off The Streets, Aboriginal Services through presenting at Juvenile Justice National conference. In 2007 he applied for National Youth Roundtable. He has gained extensive experience working in Outreach programs, Street Walk, residential services, Drug and alcohol services, and most importantly working closely with Aboriginal Communities and clients.
Chris demonstrates a deep understanding of the past and current issues impacting or likely to impact Aboriginal youth and their families / communities.
Chris has been acknowledged by Father Chris for:
- His help at the launch of the Walgett Program
- Participation and involvement at the ‘Your Future Expo’ at Macquarie Fields
- His commitment and enthusiasm to lend a hand at short notice to the available for the Disaster Response team’s involvement to assist the victims of the Victorian Bushfires.
In 2011 Chris became a senior Youth Worker and continues to do great work for Youth Off The Streets.
